Advice needed For Vietnam Experience Please

I'm going on the Vietnam Experience tour in April 2013 and was wanting to know roughly what everyone took for Spending money.. I don't really drink much alcohol however i do stay out with the group for most of the night.. I love shopping and i will be doing all the optional activities. I have never been to Asia before so i have no idea what to expect and i will also be going solo....
Do we need to take a sleeping bag & towel on the Vietnam tours as we did in Europe? If you have any more advise please let me know!
