Do many people speak english in the tourist destinations?

Pretty much most of the people you’ll encounter in major tourist cities will know a bit of English, enough to understand what you want anyway! Just be polite in asking ‘Do you speak English’ where ever you go – whilst some people will look at you funny majority will be fine with it.
I too think its a good idea to at least learn hello, goodbye, thank you and ‘bathroom’ in the language of the country you’re heading into, it is nice for the people you meet that you can at least greet them properly you know?
Also, not sure about your bus but on my bus our TM actually went through the basic words on the way to our new destination which was a really good help too!- 0 people like this
