hotel advice PLEASE!

Hi everyone,
im planning on doing the eastern discovery next summer and i want to stay in new york for up to a week afterwards. does anyone have any recomendations for hotels? i would like
-own room (might be by myself)
-own bathroom
-some kind of security
i know im being quite picky but i havent travelled before and might be by myself. also im funny about sharing rooms with people i dont know and im a very light sleeper so cant sleep with snoring going on lol.
im obviously looking for a cheaper hotel but im aware of the fact i might be travelling by myself so will need a single room, and im being really picky.
any ideas?
