  cant help you with the tour..but i can help with the aussie bit
  
  august is our winter, but depending on where ur from..its not that cold. i would suggest bringing jeans and a jacket, but no need to go overboard. if u find that u didnt pack enough, u can always buy it over here. sydney is great for shopping..the markets in syd are always cheap.
