Free time in Amsterdam

Hi there, my friend and I are going for the London & Paris plus Amsterdam tour in April 2011. I am planning to get a tattoo in Amsterdam during our stay and I was wondering if I can make the appointment any time during the day or if there are group activities scheduled at certain times during the day??? Anybody know of this??? Thanks in advance!!!!
