currency for great britain and ireland

Hey
I was just looking at the currency bit on the website for the great britain and ireland tour and it states that u need pounds and euros ... for those who have done this tour ... how much of the tour did you use pounds and how much of the tour did you use euros??? how much of each currency do you think i would need to take over?? its a 16 day tour.
