Solo travel in USA

I'm travelling to the US for 6 weeks in April/May next year which includes Grand Northern May 3rd I'm pretty excited as well as nervous and tad scared too, I was hoping anyone who has done it and has any good tips or advice or even just wants to share their experiences I would love to hear them.
