which tour to do Thai Island Hopper West or East

wanting to do thailand next year but not sure which one to do im thinking dates end Jan or mid Jul 2013 any sugestions. Also i want to do couple days in Bankok.

i just booked west leaving 25 jan 2013 thought i try the main bit first it worked with my holidays but i will look into east next time i have hoildays .
