yosemite and travel sickness

Ok this may sound like a silly question but here goes... I tend to suffer badly with travel sickness on windy roads (generally ok onm straight roads/motorways etc) and iv read a few reviews saying the drive to yosemite from Bass Lake is quite bad so I was just wondering on the trip does everyone have to go to Yosemite or is it possible to just chill at bass lake for the day? Im not really into hiking to be honest.
I fly out on Thurs so quick responses will be muchly appreciated!
