Sneakers or Walking Boots?

Hey guys I'm doing the La to Bay and eastern escapade in America next year and was wondering what type of walking shoes people took. I really only want to take the one pair ! Any advice would be great :)

I didn’t do that specific tour, but I will say that when I did mine in europe by day 8 my feet were killing me. I only brought one pair of running shoes, flip flops and a nice shoe for going out. I wish I brought more than one type of running shoe to give some of my blisters a break lol…
