I will be going on the Big Tiki and then added on the Fiji stopover.. How much spending money are people bringing for these tours? Thanks

Contiki recommends that you budget $100 NZD per day excluding optional extras, I have been to Fiji before and when I went I had a budget of $100 FJD per day as well but all of my meals were including in the price of my holiday,
I would recommend that you have a look through the optional extras you can do on the trip and work out which ones you would like to do, add that price to the $100NZD/day then add a bit more.
I am going on the Sweet as South tour in Jan which is nine days and have given myself a Budget of $1500 Australian dollars which equals more in NZD. how I worked that out was used the costs associated in the optional extra I wanted to do plus the $100 per day and placed it all in Australian dollars that way I will have extra when I get there once converted to NZD.
Also when I was in Fiji I ended up having money to spare, so it is better to over budget than under budget as there are always last minute things you want to do or buy!
NZ can be expensive. If you like thrill seeking and think you will do bungee, swings, helicopter flights, jet boating etc you may need more.
Might be a good idea to budget in the bigger activities by doing some googling to find out prices. sites that come to mind are http://www.canyonswing.co.nz/ – www.bungy.co.nz – http://www.shotoverjet.com/ – http://www.glacierhelicopters.co.nz/fox.asp – http://www.taupobungy.co.nz/
