Ferries on Greek Island Hopping

Just curious what they're like...

Do you get the airplane-type seats inside, or the cheaper outer deck seating? Assigned seating? Anything to do on the boat? (I ask because I also have a booking on Minoan Lines from Corfu to Venice after the tour, and that "ferry" looks more like a cruiseship to me!)

Do you usually have early am departures? How long are most of the rides?

Any info would be truly appreciated.
