Bringing a laptop on the trip?

Should I bring a computer? I am not worried about weight.<BR>Reasons for and against would be helpful.

I’m trying to figure out the same thing. I mainly want to take it so I can upload my pics each night and not worry about running out of space on my memory cards (even though i am bringing a few memory cards) but I am concerned that it could get stolen or damaged in transit. I have a good quality laptop so i would be pretty upset if something happened to it so i’m leaning towards not taking it.

On my last tour quite a few people did take laptops/netbooks. I would suggest against bringing a big heavy laptop that is your primary computer. But, if you have a netbook then it’s kinda nice to have.

I bring my laptop with me on every trip, its great for making last minute adjustments and skyping family. Just make sure its light and durable… or pick up a cheap netbook that if you lose or break you want be to concerned about.
