European Discovery - Do I take my Laptop or just iphone?

Hi
I'm going on the European Discovery from Feb 16th 2010 and was wondering if it was advisable to take my laptop with me?
I have a laptop backpack, am I able to leave this on the tour bus when we get off and site see or will they tell me to take it with me?
Also do you know if the hotels we stay at have free wifi?
The other option i have is to take my iphone with me.
Any advice?
