Sightseeing on tour (not excursions or cities in itinerary)

12 Jul 2008 Explorer1101860 said

Right, been looking at the potential route for the highlights tour and I was wondering whether the coaches stop at any places en route to the campsites on request? Reason I ask is that I imagine that when going through from London to Paris the route should go pretty close to the town of Arras, and as my great-great-great grandfather was killed close by on the first day of the first Battle of the Somme it would be quite something to visit the place and pay my respects. I just wondered whether anyone had done something similar when they had gone on tour, like I say I know its not on the itinerary or down as an excursion.
