New Zealand or Australia?

Hello!
We are trying to decide on a tour but don't know much about New Zealand but have heard Australia is amazing! What are the pros and cons of each?.... we would be traveling during the month of June and would love some hiking, kayaking, skiing kinds of activities included in our trip! Also, if you have a specific tour that you would recommend please let me know! Any advice is greatly appreciated!!
