suitcases/packs

I read on the suggested packing section that you can bring a suitcase and a carry-on bag. I'm flying from the states so there's no way I can fit everything I need in one carry-on unfortunately due to the liquids policy and what not, I just wanted to make sure it'd be alright if I bring a normal sized backpack and a regular sized suitcase as well. Any feedback is greatly appreciated thanks!
