What would you say is a "must have" souvenir from each Country? Something that screams Italy, France, Switzerland, etc.
Also feel free to throw in what your favorite souvenir was from your trip
*no pictures don't count! although they are in my opinion the best souvenir...

Here are my suggestions…
England: Miniature model of a double-decker bus or Big Ben and a London Underground roundel
France: Miniature Eiffel Tower
Holland: Pair of miniature clogs
Germany: Beer stein and a cuckoo clock fridge magnet
Switzerland: Chocolate
Austria: Schnapps and Swarovski crystal
My favourite souvenirs had to be postcards (I collected over 300 of them!) from each city and a fridge magnet representing each city/country. I really liked the fridge magnets because if you put them all together to make a mosaic, it looks awesome!

Oh, and I can’t forget my Nomination bracelet (perhaps the best souvenir of all) which is an extendable steel bracelet with all of the flags of the countries I’ve visited. I see the Tour Managers wear them and you can get them in Florence, Italy for a little less since their based there. It’s highly a must and I’ve gotten tons of compliments about it! I also found that my conversations about travel started when people saw the bracelet, so it’s a good conversation starter too!

I always liked the idea of starting a collection that I could continue across all my trips so I starting collecting soccer scarfs (since I have no real team affiliation since I’m from the US). You can find them in pretty much any souvenir stand in any major european city. I’ve got one from almost every country now and my pops even got them framed for me so they look really cool scattered through my apt.

My goal for things to return with from each country:
Something to display
Shot Glass
Chocolate (Switzerland, German, etc)
That way I can have something to show off in my apartment (masks from Venice, coffee table book from the Louvre, rosary from Vatican city, Steins from Germany etc), a shot glass from each country to have a nice collection, and chocolate to compare the big places in europe with my family to share.
I’m also going to probably buy a shirt in London, Paris, Rome, Berlin
I just have to work on my backlog to have more to put on display from countries i’ve been to previously and shot glasses from previous countries. Right now I have sand from Mexico, Cayman Islands, and Jamaica and aztec statuettes from Mexico.

My travel agent gave me this really great idea which I think I might pinch,
It’s similar to those flag bracelet things but I personally don’t like them so anyway
apparently gold is cheap in florence so while you’re there buy a gold charm that represents each place you have visited, eiffel tower, gondola, clog, etc etc. (it may be difficult when you think of turkey, hungary etc) but apparently they have (almost) everything, and while it is not specifically something ‘bought’ in each country, it is a nice way to remind you of each country forever. (as opposed to poastcards, keyrings etc which ultimately get thrown out as junk.
I definitely want to buy a swiss army knife in switzerland, or a watch, and a painting by a street artist in paris, but apart from that the isn’t really much else i ‘intend’ to buy, it will be a case of ‘if i see it and like it i’ll buy it.’- 0 people like this

I have a few ideas of things to get in some countries:
In pairs, i definitely want a flur de leis (spelling?) necklace. Nothing says France like the French symbol right?
Switzerland: i was thinking a sigg bottle. My buddy at school has one and its pretty cool. I wouldn’t get chocolate cause i heard from a few ppl of it melting and causing a mess… plus id eat it before we got home hahah- 0 people like this

Hi She06
This help a lot! Thank a million. I saw everyone was talking about 100 euro’s per day is good but I was scared that it will only really cover lunch and entrance fees and not give me enough bucks to spend on goodies. Your message shows me that it will be enough.
