Top photography spots on Grand Southern?

Hi all,
I'll be joining the Grand Southern (LA > NY) departing October 3rd this year, and I've been getting more and more into photography over the past 12 months, so I've got a Canon DSLR that I'll be bringing with me, and I'm just wondering if anyone has any particular spots along this tour (or any of the smaller tours in similar areas) that have places/spots I should keep a particular eye (lens maybe? :P) out while travelling?
