Hi Guys, I went on this tour last year and overall it was a great experience.
Pros: You experience situations in a group, so fun and safety are pretty much guaranteed unless you have no personality!
Cons: Getting from riga into Russia, what a **** fight. I am very happy to have gone to Russia but never ever again. It is the most corrupt city ever. But like most contiki visted areas, just be sensible with your belongings and keep in safe groups. Even though I liked Riga, in hindsight I would of began the tour in Moscow.

If you need me to answer any questions let me know.
    Linda.

    Hey kids,

I did this tour last year and loved it. Although Russia isn’t for everyone I had a blast there. Some quick recommendations:
Moscow – Propaganda bar, goes til 5am on wkends Smiler<!--graemlin::)-->
St.Petersburg – I didn’t know at the time but it has a subway similar to Moscow. Check it out on Youtube
Helsinki – if money is avail catch Helicopter back from Tallin-20mins and good experience,90euro from memory
    – Try Reindeer!! It’s tender and amazing, better than Beef
    – Some really cool clubs in Helsinki(ask locals which one’s good for the night as some are gay bars on curtain nights)
Flam Railway – stay on the bus. You miss one good waterfall
Voss – if you like adrenaline sports Voss is the place. Go online before you get there, contiki aren’t aloud to mention/recomend this stuff

And for the drinkers, buy beer/spirits in Scandy at lunch stops(grocery stores). It might workout to be AU$30 for 6pack of Heiniken but better than paying AU$17 at a pub for 1 beer – I did both

There’s heaps more to say but I haven’t the time.
Oh a great thing we did in Copenhagen, if your going to walk around to check it out, why not do a pub crawl of 7elevens- cheap and entertaining but you have to buy a beer at ever one.

    Good luck…….hueyhughes@hotmail.com

ps I plan on doing the Russia part of the tour again next year
