Waikiki or LA Explorer around Memorial day

Hello! I'm thinking of doing either the Waikiki or LA Explorer around Memorial day? Anyone else going around those times or been on both and can recommend one over the other? I'm also thinking of doing Croatian Island cruising on August 8th so I have to start budgeting accordingly!
