Mt Pilatus closed over winter

Hey everyone. I am going on a winter wanderer tour and I noticed on a website that Mt Pilatus is being closed over winter for maintenance. When I got my contiki info for optionals it has it listed as a day trip. I was just wondering if anyone knows if it is officially closed and if it is is there another optional that may be available close by?
I'm pretty disappointed cos i really wanted to go there. Any info would be appreciated.
