Small Suitcase or Backpack for Vietnam Experience?

23 Mar 2013 LesleyFromCanada asked

I was wondering if it's advisable to use a backpack instead of a suitcase? I've never travelled with a backpack before.

I usually take a small, hard-shell suitcase (small enough that I can take it onboard as a carry-on and put it under an airplane seat). But would that be a bad thing to have on this particular tour?

    Hey mate,

Did the tour in 2011 (Awesome tour!)
I got away with using a 120ltre soft Duffle Bag, and a day backpack (A must have)

The upside that a duffle and trekkers pack have over suitcases, is that there were limited elevators, and at times the stairs were the easiest way to go…. thus making a suitcase a pain..

whatever makes you comfortable. doesn’t make a difference really you’re flying between destinations. I used a suitcase.
