Transportation for SF area Outlet Shopping

Hi all
I am doing LA to the Bay this July and plan to extend my stay in San Fran since the tour end there.
Beside doing sight seeing, I am planning to go to factory outlet (either one: Gilroy, Vacaville or Petaluma). If I choose not to rent a car, any other mode of transportation to get there?
