Staying on in the UK

My sister and I will be doing a Contrasts tour in Aug 07 (very excited) and then plan on staying on in the UK with a Working Holiday Visa.
Is anyone else doing this? I have been reading all the info on Contiki tours which has been great but haven't come across anything about staying on after the tour is finished.
We are thinking of living and working in London for 3 - 6 months, then travelling around Spain before maybe heading to Scotland to work some more and see the sights up that way.
Has anyone got advice or tips? Is it easy finding work and somewhere to stay? Has anyone done bar work where you live and work at the bar? Any recommendations on good places in the UK to stay on for a while?
