ROYAL NATIONAL OR HOSTEL AFTER THE TOUR?

hey,
just thought i'd see what you guys think..
after the europe tour i've got a few days in london.
do you reckon it's better to stay at the royal national, or to stay at a hostel eg. piccadilly? the main thing i'm thinking is if it's be better there as more people, travellers, by themselves, parties/meeting people etc.
i'm guessing RN would be comfier, i think piccadilly has those cube-bed-type things (if you can imagine a 'connect 4' game haha)
plus saving about $250. though i've already paid RN, think it can be cancelled though.
