wild western in winter?

hi everyone,
i haven't booked anything yet but am thinking about doing the wild western tour in early december 07. i'll probably be arriving a few days before to do disneyland etc...
i just wanted to know if there's much interest in the us tours in the american winter? is anyone else thinking of going around this time?
also what are the crowds like around then? i don't know when the kids/college students get their holidays over there!
