An estimate for London

Hi all,
So I'm flying into London the morning of the pre-departure meeting... meaning I'll roughly have half a day to see as much of London as I can.
Since I'm only going to be there for one day, I obviously don't want to take out lots of money in British Pounds...
So my question is, how many pounds do you think I should have on me, or get out of the ATM? I was thinking 100pounds...
Considering the hotel will already be paid for, I just need an estimate for eating, getting around, and a little bit of shopping if I have the time.
(The major sites I want to see are the Tower Bridge, Ben , the British Museum and Buckingham Palace...all free I believe!)
