america in winter!!

im thiking of going to america this december/january as i will be able to get time off work but i am unsure whether to go or wait as it will be winter over there. i am thinking of foing the wild western, la explorer and new york explorer. would anyone recommeend going in winter or the experience much better going in summer?? please help!!

LA would still be warm but not warm enough to go swimming. New york will be fairly cold, depending when in the winter you could expect plenty of snow and plenty of overcast days. I would suggest May to Sept for doing NYC if you want to stay warm.

I don’t think it is necessarily better going in Summer, just different..in Winter on the trips through the west they substitute Yosemite for Lake Tahoe cause lots of the roads into national parks etc are closed..I went on LA to the Bay in December and I had a great time! I prefer the cold to the heat though so I guess it’s all up to what you prefer..

ok cool, and did u go skiing? i enjoy both the cold and the hot, i am doing europe this winter so am just tossing up whether to add on a few weeks in the US or do that trip in summer.. still undecided!!

Hey Manda,
I went on the Grand Southern Jan 09 and had the best time… Loved the Snow Mobiling, was the best fun i have ever had
<!--graemlin::)--> Im agtually going on the Grand Southern again but this time im going in September with a friend (went solo last time) So its going to be a really different trip lol… But it was fantastic to get to play in the snow… Being from Perth we Definately dont have that.. You will have a ball any time of the year
