The Il Merletto Lace School is in Venice, Italy, just of St Marks Square.

“I love Lace! The ONLY lace school left in Venice, this is a dying art. Your children might not get the chance to see this unless they are in a museum. And it makes great light relatively cheap but exclusive presents for the special ladies in your life. It’s a winner.”

“Lace in Venice is a really good present to buy for your grandparents, or aunt or uncle that you have to buy something for! They have really great tablecloths, serviettes and other lace products – the best thing about lace is that it is a souvenir you can actually use. We do this in the morning when we get to Venice and takes about 20 minutes – one of the people who works there will tell you about the history of lace making, and it really is actually quite interesting!”

  1. I visited Merletto Lace School in May of 2000. It was a very facinating experience.
I bought a dresser scarf which I love. I wish I would have bought more.
    I love the lace.
