The Bay of Acapulco is a major port and resort city on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. About 700,000 people call the city home and the populated part of the bay is bordered by beautiful beaches and mountains.

The city became a major Spanish port in the 1500’s and the city was built upon trade and merchants. Acapulco has seen more than it’s fair share of war and pirates and has had its fortress destroyed and rebuilt many times.

These days Acapulco is more famous for its beaches, nightlife and relaxed resort atmosphere with high-rise resorts lining the beaches. People also travel from all over Mexico and the world to see the famous La Quebrada Cliff Divers as well as to experience what is perhaps the best nightlife in Mexico.

Acapulco Bay is also home to water sports like paragliding as well as some great open air markets and shopping experiences. Because of it’s location on the West Coast, Acapulco a perfect position to enjoy the sun set and not tour to Acapulco would be complete without watching the sun sink over the Pacific Ocean horizon – a perfect an unforgettable way to end the day – and a great way to ease yourself into the night!
