There are a myriad of small bars centered mainly around the through the Old Town The legacy of English tourism can be seen in English/Irish themes of many of the bars in town. Live music (usually American rock) is also common amongst the mix of bars. Some of the more popular live venues include Wayne’s Bar, Ma Nolan’s and Thor, who all close around 2am because of French licensing laws. Escalier has pool tables, is open much later and although they have a cover charge, it usually includes a drink or two while the Blue Wales is a tiny venue that rocks on until the wee hours.

Funnily enough, although people travel to Nice as a holiday destination, there is a distinct lack of big clubs although this is beginning to change.
