Contiki owns and operates its very own properties utilized solely by Contiki’s Concept/Budget Tours.
Sleeping quarters are usually bunk style quad share rooms and include sheets and pillows. You will however need to bring your own sleeping bag to sleep under.
These accommodations are staffed by Contiki Crew and are situated in some of the most beautiful and picturesque parts of Europe and our stopovers are often surprising favorites on any European tour. They are totally unique way to travel Europe and are exclusive to Contiki travellers.
Contiki’s exclusive Special Stopovers include:
- The Chateau – Beaujolais Region, France. Overlooking the seductive vineyards of the Beaujolais region of central France is Contiki’s authentic French Chateau, the Chateau de Cruix, dating back to 1873. Wander around the beautiful town of Thieze, taste wines that have been made here for centuries, picnic in the vineyards and cool off in the Chateau’s own pool.
- Gastof Schoneck – Hopfgarten, Austria. Set against a breathtaking alpine panorama, the Gastof Schoneck is Contiki’s own traditional Austrian Gasthof in beautiful Hopfgarten. The new beer garden will be just what you want to come home to after a day spent mountain biking, hiking and exploring the hills.
- Swiss Chalet – Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland. A glacial valley at the foot of the mighty Jungfrau Mountain set against lush green meadows and over 70 waterfalls. This is the vibrant village of Lauterbrunnen and it’s this simply spectacular alpine setting that you will find Contiki’s Swiss Chalet. Appreciate the sheer scale of the Swiss Alps and enjoy the ultimate in Swiss cuisine – the fondue.

This is awesome - you have to do it - so much information about the city - it really has an amazing history.
I dont think anyone has ever said they didnt enjoy George's boat! Its by far the best optional on tour! The water is amazing and George is quite the entertainer ;)
The lodge that was stayed in was beyond my expectations! Beautiful! Make sure you check out the lodge's hot tub (breathtaking view) and the ice bar!
