Corner stores can be found in almost every Australian suburb and are a great source of authentic Aussie-styled cuisine. Corner store food, like much of Australian food, is a variation on food from cultures around the world. Kebabs, gyros, chico roll or the classic fish and chips. Many of these corner stores also hamburgers and the only way to eat one ‘Downunder’ is to order a Burger with ‘the lot’ which usually consists of a regular burger with beetroot, grilled onion and bacon topped with a fried egg. You can usually find the legendary meat pies and sausage rolls at many corner stores.
