In contrast to other more mountainous regions of Scandinavia, Denmark is relatively low, flat and consists of over 500 islands. The country also shares a small land border with Germany in the south. The largest and capital city is the port town of Copenhagen while the countryside is dotted with cobblestoned villages and towns.
