Egypt and the Nile (Tour)

1. This trip is amazing. Seeing everything you have ever read about in a National Geographic or Smithsonian magazine is more than most people can ever dream of.

   A few suggestions -

   a) Bring stomach medicine (immodium ad, pepto bismol, tums)- nearly everyone had issues on the tour. The water in Egypt isn’t the best quality – and everything is washed and/or cooked in it. You will have stomach issues at some point. It’s best to be prepared since this doesn’t offer alot of down time.

   b) Check ALL the bottles of water you buy. Make sure the caps and seals are unbroken. They like to recycle there – and this means they may fill up the bottles with water from the tap or wherever else it’s found.

   c) Smell what you eat before you do. If it smells odd, don’t eat it. (this is good for everywhere you travel)

   d) Bring your own Toilet Paper. It’s cheaper – and if you have it, will save you a few bathroom attendant tips.

   d) Haggle in the market and nearly everywhere else. You’ll wind up with a better purchase price. Plus, it’s kind of fun to see that side of the culture.

   e) Have fun! Remember, this isn’t like home, and that’s why you’re out seeing the world.
