Food and Drink - Egypt

There is a variety of foods to suit everyones needs, no one will ever be left out. There is a traditional Egyptian meal one night so all can experience the true flavors of Egypt as well as enjoy meals that are more familiar.
Most meals are buffets so there is lots of choice. The food on the Nile River Cruise (Egypt and the Nile tour only) is fantastic and there is always lots to choose from.
The food on the Train trip is nothing special but the tour guide suggested eating up and buying snacks before we get on the train anyway.
People may have concerns about eating fruit and vegetables in Egypt and I wouldn’t eat them from the street stalls but in restaurants and hotels there are no issues at all.
If you are stopping somewhere local to eat, the tour guide will always point out the recommended places to eat and drink that are safe and they trust.
You can’t drink water from the taps, only bottled water but there is no shortage of this around.

I have never been to Egypt but love middle eastern food. How does the food in Egypt compare to middle eastern foo din general?

I’m a picky eater and never went starving on this tour. The food was generally very good, with a variety of foods you’ll recognize along with some new things. I barely ate any of the granola bars I brought with me.
