The most recognizable symbol of the city of Venice is its gondolas. The long, black, oared boats are not only icons of the city but are deeply intertwined with the unique culture and history of the city. Paddled through the canals with expert skill and ease by the often stripped shirted gondoliers they are a beautiful, romantic way get away from the crowds and get a totally different perspective on the city. Like the rest of Italy, you can drink almost anywhere and there is no better way to enjoy a Gondola ride than with a glass of vino.

Many people travel to Venice just to see or ride in a gondola for themselves – one of the most famous icons of Europe.
