A small village of little over 5000 residents nestled amongst the Alps in the Tyrol region of Austria. Skiing here in the winter is some of the best in Europe and people flock from all over Europe and the world not only to Hopfgarten but also the nearby resorts of Kitzbuhl and Worgl.

Home to Contiki’s Gasthof Schoneck Special Stopover accommodation utilized by many Concept/Budget Tours during the summer, it doubles as the base for Contiki’s Ski Tours during the winter. A limited number of Time Out/Superior/Hotel Tours also stay here or in the nearby village of Itter.

Many tours staying here in the summer have the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors to the max with optional activities such as mountain biking, white water rafting and paragliding being offered. The chilled out nature is perfect for resting and relaxing while the nearby trout farm (open through the middle of summer) is also a lot of fun. Ski gondolas often operate through the summer season also allowing access to some simply spectacular mountain scenery with hiking also being popular in the region.

After the sun sets however the casual atmosphere often starts to fade as the schnaps starts to flow and the Gasthof Schoneck is often host to some of the most legendary theme parties while the bars in town are always popular.
