Bringing your laptop on tour is a matter of personal choice.

“I did not bring my laptop and did not regret it. Its a lot to lug around and I did not miss my laptop at all. If all you want to do is backup pics, you can get your memory card burned to a CD in any Photo store.”

  1. I am going on the European Contrasts tour in September and have decided I’m going to take an iPad mini. Its a great device for storing of photos, checking emails and keeping in contact with the world back home via Facebook and all that. Its light and compact and I think anyone tossing up between taking a laptop or not should consider this alternative :)

  6. I’m considering bringing a netbook. It’s only 7” wide and weighs less than 800grams. I would rather have the option of using my computer than paying extra for internet cafes. Plus you can type emails etc whilst travelling on the bus then send when you have free wifi. :)
My manager went on a tour and said half the bus had laptops or had access to the internet via their iphones. If you don’t bring one, I’m sure someone will let you use theirs if it is urgent.
