The name Montreal, originates from the French name of the mountain on the island, Mont Real (Mount Royal). The town is an awesome mix of the old and the new in the second largest French-speaking city in the world (next to Paris, France). Situated on the banks of the historic Lawrence River it is the Canada’s 2nd largest city in with over 3 million inhabitants.

Located adjacent to the Old Port is historical Old Montreal, which arguably has a strong European ambiance. Much of this stems from the cobblestone streets and buildings dating back to the 1600’s. At the lookout in Mt. Royal, you’ll be able to capture a magnificent panoramic of Montreal, and you may notice tall buildings in the downtown area but there a city ordinance stating that no building can be taller than the mountain.
