Noosa may well be the one of the most perfect beach-side towns in the world. A claim that is not only made by its super-rich residents, but also by many of the thousands of people who visit this picturesque Sunshine Coast town on the East Coast.

The main street of the town, Hastings Street, is as cosmopolitan as beach resorts can get with a great mix of shopping, restaurants, cafes, art galleries and luxury hotels.

One of the key elements that has puts Noosa’s sensational beach areas in total contrast to the Gold Coast is a population cap of 50,000 and local laws that forbid high rise development. All this has protected Noosa but has also created some of the most beautiful and sought-after (not to mention, expensive) property in the country.

The beach is safe and great for a swim with waves only really picking up during strong winds. The area is also home to a National Park that is easily accessible worth a stroll down to. Noosa also has loads of awesome ice cream shops lining the streets behind the beach.

Noosa is a lunch stop with time for a swim, sightseeing and shopping on many Contiki Tours heading north from our Farmstay or south from Fraser Island.
