The Powerhouse Museum (official site) has been created out of the shell of a former power station. This however is not your normal, run of the mill museum with over 25 exhibitions giving you an insight into human achievement, science, technology, the decorative arts and the lives of everyday Australians. Among many other exhibits, the Powerhouse is home to a NASA space station, a 1930’s cinema, the Boulton and Watt steam engine and Sandra Rhodes ball gown. The Powerhouse Museum is located a short walk form the city center at 100 Harris Street, Ultimo in Sydney.
