The Queen Victoria Building in Sydney (known to the locals as the QVB) was a beautiful building in itself when it was completed in 1898 but it has now been transformed into a shopping arcade filled with over 200 boutiques and galleries. The building is packed with pedestrians during rush hour as people walk through the building to get to work but the small one-off shops and major chain stores fill the opulent interior and create an escape form the often hectic pace outside.

The Queen Victoria Building is on York Street in the heart of the city.

  4. Make sure you are at the QVB on the hour. There is a very interesting clock that plays music and shows different sceens for about 10-15 minutes best viewed from the top floor. Durring Christmas time the entire building is decorated to the max. You will also find unusual museum pieces inside the building as well. Its a defiante must see!
