Sailing the Whitsundays

Can you imagine anything better than waking up in the morning, diving into some crystal clear water to wake yourself up and then climbing back on board your boat just as breakfast is being served? When you upgrade to the 2 night sailing option in the Whitsunday’s you will get to do just that.
The Whitsunday’s is made up of 74 islands and truly is a paradise. Sailing is the best way to see many of the islands and take in the amazing scenery! You will spend two days and nights on board a maxi yacht. Many of the yachts used were international racing maxis. If you want to learn about sailing, the professional crew will let you get involved…teaching you how to hoist the sails and grind the winches BUT if you’d prefer to relax, sun bake and soak up the atmosphere – you can leave the hard work to them.
All of your meals are included and are cooked on board, by the crew. The food is all freshly prepared and I guarantee – you won’t go hungry.
You will get a chance to stop and snorkel at various fringing reefs, (snorkeling gear is included free) swim right off the boat and visit a few of the many islands. The highlight will definitely be a visit to Whitehaven beach. Hike to the lookout and you can get your own picture postcard photo of this famous beach.
Sleeping quarters are tight on the boat (twin share not available). The bunk beds are in the hull and very cosy but if it’s a nice night, why not sleep on the deck under the stars. Washing facilities on board are limited but you have the luxury of jumping into the water if you want to freshen up. You will feel like a nice hot shower though when you finish your sailing adventure but you will be happy you chose to see the Whitsunday’s from your own private yacht – It is amazing!
As there is limited space, I’d pre book with your tour so you are guaranteed a spot. If there is space available when the tour starts, the Tour Manager will offer people the chance to upgrade to the sailing option but it’s first in best dressed.
Sailing the Whitsundays is a great alternative to spending your first two nights in the Whitsundays at the Daydream Island Resort. The trip returns just in time to enjoy the island’s afternoon activities and evening fun.
It is a perfect way to see the Whitsunday’s……
What to bring - Only bring a small soft bag for your sailing holiday and pack a beach towel, t-shirts, shorts, swimwear, a hat, a warm pullover and pants for evenings, warm clothing (season), deck shoes (no black soles) and walking shoes, insect repellent, sunscreen, favorite music. Alcohol and soft drinks can be purchased prior to departure and brought aboard to enjoy during the cruise at no extra charge. Beverage selection lists will be provided for private charters.
