SeaWorld San Diego tends to be a tour favorite mainly because of its marquee attraction: Shamu!
Once people enter the park, however, they realize SeaWorld has far more to offer. The dolphin habitat, the sea lion show, the shark cove and the penguin habitat are only a few of the features where you can easily spend most of your day. But don’t forget about the Anheuser-Busch beer garden, where beer brewing workshops are held daily. And then there are the thrill rides, which make even the oldest person feel like a kid again!
Sea World is one of the most popular attractions in San Diego and is offered as an Optional Excursion on USA Tours visiting the city where you can also visit the San Diego Zoo.

A tip for people looking for a decent coffee shop.. if you don't already know about it, you will because most Contiki travellers find out about it - its The Grasshopper. Ask a local and they should be able to tell you where to find it.
For a different take on Bass Lake history, read Hells Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs by Hunter S. Thompson. A good read on the Wild Western.
This is awesome - you have to do it - so much information about the city - it really has an amazing history.
