More Tour and Travel Advice for Europe
“You should be security conscious in general around Europe be aware that professional gangs operate.”
- Stella Hritis, Tour Manager, Europe
Regrettably, there are professional gangs of thieves operating in many areas of Europe. Your most important possessions such as passport, money and camera should be carefully guarded at all times while you travel.
The best way to do this is to use some form of money belt, neck pouch or shoulder holster rather than carrying all of your money and cards in your wallet or purse.
Always keep a copy of your passport details and important travel documents, credit card numbers, travel insurance documents and travelers cheque numbers separate to the originals. It is often useful to carry a few extra passport photos with you.
You can also use the Contiki eKit (official site) Travel Vault to store your details and access them over the phone or internet.
Under no circumstances can Contiki be held responsible for the safekeeping of your money or valuables.
