The United States and Canada offers some fantastic shopping. On a Northern Tour, check out Quincy Market in Boston for good, affordable shopping. You could spend a whole day popping in and out of the different specialty boutiques in Quebec City. St. Catherine Street in Montreal offers a wide variety of stores. Toronto has Bloor St. as well as the Eaton Centre – a shoppers paradise. Chicago’s Miracle Mile offers some of the best shopping in the United States, but shoppers on a budget should definitely check out State Street in Chicago as well as Marshall Fields. Of course, Las Vegas is known for having a choice of outlets and posh shopping in the massive casino resorts.

On the Southern tour, do not overlook Dallas as a hotspot for spending cash. Dallas offers two large shopping centers. Orlando offers outlet shopping, too. Also, Washington DC offers quality shopping in the gift shops of the various museums of the Smithsonian Institute, and at several large malls away from Capitol Hill.

  1. For some fantastic designer bargains in New York City, head to Century 21, just opposite Ground Zero. At times it can be a bit like a gigantic frantic rummage sale, but if you persevere you’ll come away with some designer duds for practically nothing!
