Last Updated: 22nd May 2013
Although, at the moment, many things in Prague and the Czech Republic are significantly cheaper than the rest of Europe, you will find that retail prices do not vary greatly although you can often find an absolute bargain in some of the smaller stores.
The old part of town is packed with small tourist style stores while the main retail district is along the edge of Wenceslas Square and its side streets. For the up-market side of Czech shopping check out the Parizska (Paris Street) off the side of the old town square. While the Havelska is home to some great markets selling everything from prints to fresh produce.
During the summer the banks of the Vltava river and the Charles Bridge are also filled with artists selling their works.
Marionettes (puppets) have along history in the city and on almost every corner you will see stalls and markets specializing in these unique and sometimes quirky souvenirs.
