Tijuana, Mexico is just a short jump from San Diego, California. It is geared towards tourists, so the street is a sort of circus-like interpretation of Mexico.
Contiki takes the group to Tijuana for a Mexican lunch, and then everyone is on their own for a few hours to souvenir shop for items such as decorative- guitars, maracas, ponchos, or sombreros.
Tijuana is also known for selling silver and leather, so some group members check out jewelry or boots. And there are always a few who spend their time sampling Mexican beer or tequila.
